Partnering with HisKIDS Update

Like I told you a few weeks ago, Abbie’s Helping Hands is going to partner with HisKIDS, a local organization that supports children in treatment for cancer. Every year I go away to summer camp but kids who have serious medical conditions cannot do that, because it would be dangerous for them to have something go wrong when they are away from home and the hospital. HisKIDS makes it possible for kids with cancer to go away to camp! Every year they have a camp that has special nurses and doctors on staff, and special supplies there, so that it is safe for kids to be there in case something happens. I know how important camp is to me so this is really special to my heart. During the winter, HisKIDS does things to make it special for them at the holidays if they are in the hospital then. So, the blankets we make this winter are going to be lap-sized, so kids can use them in their beds or in their wheelchairs.

To get started showing our support for HisKIDS, Abbie’s Helping Hands made this fun blanket to donate to their recent Cosmic Bingo night, and they raffled it off to make money for HisKIDS! I am really proud to work with them and help them with this wonderful cause. Here is the blanket I made!
