Monster Rumpus!

This spring I got to be on the planning committee for The Monster Rumpus: A Playful Celebration. It was an event put on by Metro Theater Company to help support and raise money for their programs that teach theater and drama to kids out in the community. There was a huge party, dinner, and dance where kids were invited to play with actors and actresses dressed up as monsters, watch circus acts, and learn about MTC. I was super excited to make two blankets to donate to the event because I love theater and the money that would be raised by selling the blankets would go to let kids have an opportunity that they might not be able to have (like theater camp) without that help. My mom found flannel to use on one side that had monsters all over it that glow in the dark! Both of the blankets sold and I am so proud and happy! I hope someone is snuggling somewhere enjoying their monster blankets.

The event was super fun and my family and I danced the whole time. The picture of me in the purple dress is at the party (excuse my sweaty dancing hair, this was at the end of the night). The other picture is me with the blankets that I made (okay, excuse the crazy hair there, I had an audition for a show that afternoon). I hope I get to help with the planning next year too!
