Blessing Bags & One Day One Meal One Love

This past weekend I took some time to make a big batch of blessing bags with supplies I had built up over the summer and some new things we got when our local dollar store had some amazing deals. This video shows how I do them...I set up stations around the table and fill them in order so I make sure I don't leave anything out!

After I made the bags, I joined my friend Faith downtown. She has an organization called One Day One Meal One Love where she makes meal packs for people in need and gives them out downtown at shelters and on the street. I have partnered up with her before to do this and bring blankets and scarves, because many times, we find families and kids in this situation.

We had the opportunity to meet and talk to a woman whose family had been displaced by Hurricane Harvey in Houston. This really touched my heart because last year my brother had a lemonade stand to help people from that hurricane but even though you think you are helping, and you are, there is always more need.

Thank you Faith for letting me help your organization in this way. I am already making scarves for the next time you have a meal pack drive downtown so that when the cold weather is here we can give those out with blankets and blessing bags.
