Sasha's Store

This past weekend I spent time in Columbia, Missouri to cook breakfast with my community service group Cookin' Crowns at the Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Missouri. It was the first time I'd visited that House and it is beautiful. The night before we cooked, we shopped for food and dropped it off at the House. I was so lucky to meet Ms. Margaret, who insisted on giving us a tour of the House. On the tour she showed us somewhere very special which is a closet that they have called "Sasha's Store."

In it they keep toiletries, blankets, clothes, and games that people can come and "shop" from for supplies they may need. Well, this was great because I happened to have a bunch of blessing bags and blankets with me! She said they would absolutely use the blessing bags to give to people who come to the House on a day pass from the MU Women's and Children's Hospital to sleep or take a shower and clean up, or they would give them to people to take to people who may be sleeping around the clock at the hospital. And the blankets, she said that people would love them too. So, I was so happy to be able to donate about 25 blessing bags and several blankets to Sasha's Store.
