I'm One of the 102!!!

Earlier this week I received a UPS envelope in the mail (which you know whatever it is in there has to be important when you see it in one of those envelopes. And it WAS!!). It was the notification that I am this year's 2020 The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards high school winner for the State of Missouri for my work on my program Self-Val YOU: Promoting Positive Personal Imagery!!!! I want to thank my school first for making me their nominee this year for the award. This is a national program and schools from all over the country and Girl Scout councils, YMCAs, 4-H clubs, American Red Cross chapters, and Points of Light organizations nominate and certify students in high school and junior high for this award, so this is beyond a huge honor to have been picked from all of these people my age doing amazing things in their communities all over Missouri. If it weren't for learning that it's possible as a young person to start something bigger than just yourself by starting up Abbie's Helping Hands, I wouldn't have had the idea to start Self-ValYOU. So, I credit Abbie's Helping Hands with this award as well. It is a huge, huge honor and I am so proud.

Here is the press release about the award!!!
